It is the integrated person who recognizes that meeting with true success requires that one's life be balanced, holistic, meaningful, and guided by the "spirit as the inner source of energy and spirituality as the outward expression of that force" (Dehler and Welsh, 2003, p.115) or "lived religion" (Gould 2005).

Into the Darkness
By Jonathan Dunnemann
Into the night, I set out alone becoming a witness to its vast stretch of darkness. Lacking in light, but desperately seeking.
What is willed to be found lies somewhere between crown and underfoot.
Absent a burning candle, without even a flicker of illumination, I cling to hope. And together, we remain inseparable.
Guided mostly by spiritual imagination, I let go of fear and begin to trust in the unseen yet clearly felt distinction between what is cold and empty and that which radiates warmth bi-directionally.
Once this unmistakable originating connection is reestablished there is no need for more seeking. I have been found, I am home again and suddenly wholly transformed.
